Quodat in brief

Quodat is the culture hub that brings every release together in one place so you never miss a thing: cinema, video games, music, manga, concerts, esports and more.

Users can discover, follow and save their favourite releases, add them to their own calendar and enjoy a dedicated feed. With Quodat they never miss an important release again, and no longer need to jump between countless websites or social networks to find the right information.

On the professional side, publishers and creators get dedicated tools to promote their work and interact directly with their audience. With its community approach and its professional space, Quodat has become the meeting point between audiences, creators and publishers.

Meet the founder

Quodat was designed and built by a single person, starting in his student years. His goal: making releases clear, reliable and accessible to everyone.

Portrait of the founder of Quodat

Maxime Ambry

Founder of Quodat · Lyon, France

An anime and series fan, he came up with the idea during his student years after noticing that no website brought all release dates together. That personal project has become the culture hub he keeps developing and improving for fans and professionals from every background.

Let us talk about anything, and a bit of nothing

Want to join Quodat, publish at scale or write about the project? The founder answers every serious request quickly (and even faster if the email opens with a joke).

History

The Quodat story

Discover how Quodat has evolved from its beginnings until today, a journey driven by innovation and a passion for culture.

  1. 2016 — Genesis

    The idea is born

A gap becomes obvious: no website brings together the release dates of anime, movies and manga. The idea of Quodat is born on the benches of the IUT of Valence.

  2. 2019 — First version

    First draft

The first draft of the website goes live. A promising concept, but a design already ageing against the new standards of the web.

  3. 2020 — Version 2.0

    Complete redesign

During lockdown, Quodat is completely redesigned. In 6 months, a more modern version attracts its first regular users.

  4. 2021-2023 — Consolidation

    Building out the features

New features are built (calendar, lists, open contribution) and the community approach is strengthened. The goal stays the same: becoming the reference for culture releases.

  5. 2025 — Version 3.0

    A complete culture hub

The new version of Quodat launches: a complete culture hub, designed to host several thousand releases and offer a smooth experience at scale. This step also opens a dedicated API and professional tools built for creators and publishers.

  6. 2026 — Open contribution

    The knowledge of the community

The open contribution system launches: every user can now enrich the database by sharing what they know — dates, platforms, sources — so the information keeps getting more complete and more reliable.

  7. 2026 — Mobile app

    Quodat in your pocket

The Quodat mobile app launches on Android: release reminders, a library synced with the website and every release date, wherever you go.
